my first installation of a door, and to boot it was a 4' french door...worst nightmare was losing it out the opening, and sending the story to Familiy Handyman magazine's "GREAT GOOFS"...but as you can see, it turned out beautifully...

NASA Engineers use Duct Tape???

Gap Filler Repair Techniques by nasa.gov on 08.01.05
"Engineers practice techniques to eliminate or trim protruding gap fillers that Astronauts Soichi Noguchi and Steve Robinson will use during their spacewalk. The ceramic coated-fabric gap fillers are used to prevent hot gas from seeping into gaps between the Shuttle’s protective tiles."

Nice use of duct tape, looks like something I've designed in my basement, there is hope!!! :)

Manchester Verizon Center - Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors 14-OCT-2005

The Boston Celtics return to the Granite State on Friday, October 14th, when they host the Toronto Raptors in an NBA pre-season game at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.

The game might be a homecoming for Concord High School's Matt Bonner. The 6'10" forward averaged 7.2 points per game last year for Toronto, and is currently in negotiations with the team for a contract extension.

The October 14th event marks the fourth consecutive pre-season game in New Hampshire for the Celtics. A year ago the Celtics trounced the Chicago Bulls 104-74 led by Paul Pierce's 18-point performance.

The game is presented by the New England Dodge Dealers.

Tickets are priced at $76.00, $46.00, $41.00, $31.00, $26.00 and $10.00 and will go on sale at the Verizon Wireless Arena Box Office on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 10:00am. Tickets can also be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, including Filenes, by calling Ticketmaster at (603) 868-7300 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

24th Annual Pittsfield Balloon Rally AUG 5-7

This weekend, starting Friday 08/05 is a great event right in our backyard of Pittsfield. For more information, visit the Pittsfield Hot Air Balloon Rally website. We also have our slalom double-header waterski tournament on private pond in downtown Kingston. Come by and see Kate & I, along with many friends, tear up the slalom course Saturday and Sunday morning (9am to Noon).

Four Balloon Launches will be taking place throughout the weekend, but be sure not to miss the 5:30a launch Saturday or Sunday morning. If the weather is just right, like last year you'll get to see the balloons dunk their baskets in the morning fog. A sight that shouldn't be missed, unless you have a 8:00a waterski tournament start time, I don't know, can we do it babe??? There will be DONUTS!!!

And just when you think you've seen it all, the Night "GLOW" Inflation Spectacular occurs at 8:30pm. Certainly the best time to grab some great fair food, like a sausage sandwich, fresh cut fries and a ice cream cone, YUMMY YUMMY!!!

To top off a great weekend, Pittsfield really puts some money into a marvelous fireworks display. Quite impressive, one of the best displays I've seen in NH, even better than Wednesday Night's at Hampton Beach.

Be sure to bring your cameras, some great photo opportunities!!!Got plenty of photos to share if you're interested, JUST DROP ME A COMMENT.

HAMPTON BEACH or BUST!!!

Yes, it is that time of year again. Where the chilly atlantic ocean has warmed enough to take the sunburn sting away with a one-of-a-kind NUMBing sensation. Oh yeah, can't forget the boardwalk fries and yummy oven-baked pizzas, ON EVERY CORNER!!! Diet, see ya later.

Jab him with a right, and a left, and a ...

And this time Kev-dog I want you to win me a REAL TEDDY BEAR, not this flea bitten MUTT!!! ;)

So be sure to ride the train, right down to the beach!!! Good times guaranteed to be had by all.

go speed racer, go speed racer, go speed racer, GO!!!

2005 National Scout Jamboree

As a scout I had the opportunity to attend the 1989 National Jamboree, and it was a very similiar feeling as our country was also at war in the Persian Gulf. At the time George Sr. came, and we got to hear Lee Greenwood sing "Proud to be an American". This was the 1st time I had ever heard the song, and it certainly gave me chills as three F16 Tomcats flew overhead. WOW!!! The same experience hopefully was shared as a scout from our Northwood Troop 312 was able to attend. Check out this great website and their awesome 2005 jamboree photo album.

President Bush Highlights Arena Show
President Bush addressed more than 75,000 Scouts, leaders, and guests of the 2005 National Scout Jamboree Sunday night. His speech celebrated the values of Scouting and its volunteers, and encouraged youth and adults alike to continue to set an example for the country through their Good Turns for America. (Full text of the President's speech.)

Following the President, Chief Scout Executive Roy L. Williams and National BSA President John Cushman convened a National Court of Honor to recognize the extraordinary bravery of Scout Kendell Call, who at great risk to himself saved the life of his father during the tragic accident on July 25th.

The arena show featured a production created especially for the jamboree to honor twenty of the greatest living American explorers. It concluded with a spectacular fireworks display and laser show.
