Halloweenie Frostbitten Slalom Tourney Benefit

Our good friend and ski buddy Justin Peterson put together a Frostbitten Tourney as his Senior High School Project where all proceeds went to breast cancer research. Certainly a GREAT CAUSE and a ton of fun. Notice the only GIRL skier, Laura, wrapped head-to-toe!!! Great sport.

Looks like we'll have to carry on your tradition Justin when you're off to college the next 4yrs. Going to miss you next year!!!

Dad & Katie Rocking the Novice Divisions

US Championships for the INT Watersports League was held in Arvin California this year, just 20miles outside of Bakersfield in sunny, hot Bakerfield California. Another great year with 475 competitors from 20+ states across the country competing. Below are some pics of Katie (#2 Women's Novice in New England) and my Dad (#1 Men's Novice in Ohio) who both qualified in their divisions. So it was fun making this a family event, even though we missed Anne terribly this year as she also qualified in 2nd class. I qualified as #3 in Men's Open Division for New England (36mph 28off to 32off) but came in with some tough competition. I came in 4th and missed 3rd place by 6 buoys, NEXT YEAR!!! Unfortunately no pics of me to post, maybe some other ski buddies will send me some.

Walk of the 100 Giants - Sequoia National Forest

We took a day break since the 3 of us weren't skiing to take a road trip up to the edge of Seqoia National Forest and check out these 1,000 year old giants. AMAZING!!! Really puts a perspective on life.

Apple Releasing "The Brick" to BREAK Windows?!?

http://www.tuaw.com/

What is The Brick?
Posted Sep 22nd 2008 4:30PM by Robert Palmer
Filed under: Rumors
The friendly folks over at Macenstein have a theory about The Brick -- a widely-rumored Apple product that may be debuting mid-October. So far, all we really know is the code name: "The Brick."

Many speculate that it refers to the form factor of the product -- whatever it may be -- but Macenstein has a different take: it's the Windows breaker. Get it? Like a real brick with a real window.

Apple may have a plan to pull significant market-share away from Microsoft using this product (or series of products). If true, it could be the missing piece of the puzzle that executives hinted about in Apple's Q3 conference call in July.

The question, of course, remains: what the heck is it already? A new, low-cost MacBook? An iTablet? Software? Let us know your predictions by leaving us a comment below.

SLIDESHOW - All Beandawg's Blog Photos

32 Degree Evenings puts a Froth on the Pond

Fall is certainly in the air, as you can see at 7am this morning the drastic temp differences from the pond which is around 65 to the air which is 32, BRRRrrrrr. Only 6 days of skiing left, including today before we leave for Bakersfield. Wow does time fly by. Then it will be time to put the boat away and call it a season!!! Tons of "summer project delays" to make-up for. Always a sad day when you look out the window and the dock and lifts are put away. But then it is time to break out the snowblower (another project) to get it ready for some ice skating this winter. I think LaLa might just be ready to run around on the ice with a helmet and chair. We're already looking for toddler snow shoes and a "bike trailer" to carry behind the mountain bike and cross country skis that fits "two".

LaLa is California BOUND!!!

ELEVEN LAKES - Slalom Mecca

Yes, mama and dada both qualified for INT Waterski Nationals which are being held in Bakersfield in 2wks. Auntie Anne and Grandpa also qualified by taking top places in Ohio. So the entire family (except Anne at this point) is heading WEST to the deserts of Bakersfield for a great opportunity.

Also get to see my western cousins for the first time: Jamie, Anita, Tasnim, Jazair, Imran and of course Trevor, Victoria and Lydia.
