Twenty-two month old Cole Marsolek of Menomonie took to water-skiing right away.
MENOMONIE — Twenty-two month old Cole Marsolek of Menomonie took up water-skiing last Wednesday on his training ski.

Since that time the boy has skied everyday on Tainter Lake and only taken one spill, according to his mother Lissa.

“He absolutely loves it,” Lissa Marsolek said. “He popped right up the first time. He is a little showboat waving to everyone and blowing kisses at people as we go by.”

Cole has great balance, she noted.

The training ski is shaped like a sled and Cole travels along at idle speed pulled by his parents Mastercraft ski boat.

Both Lissa, 26, and her husband Chad, 31, have water-skied since they were children. Lissa started when she was 3 years old.

“It’s a little in Cole’s blood,” she noted.’

Cole is able to say a few words. When asked what he wants to do he says, “Ski, please.”

He also is able to say “fall” and when asked if he is ready to ski he says “Go,” the tot’s mother said.

Cole has enjoyed the water since he was 3 weeks old. But prior to learning to water-ski his parents made sure he understood floating with a lifejacket and holding his breath. He is not allowed down by the water or in the boat without his lifejacket.

So if his parents mention about going down by the lake or boating, he gets his lifejacket right away.

There is always someone on the back of the boat to jump in if Cole does fall.

The couple has a 5-month-old daughter, Kinsey, as well. If she is also enjoys water-skiing she will be allowed to try as soon as she is ready, Lissa said.

Schooner Sunset Cruise with Harpoon Brewery

All aboard! Join us on Wednesday, August 16th for a two-hour sunset sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon in Gloucester Harbor. Help the crew raise the sails, or just sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Gloucester's coastline as the sun sets. Now picture yourself doing that with an ice-cold, fresh Harpoon in your hand (except the part about raising the sails - that might be difficult). Pretty nice thought, eh?

Here are the details:

When: Wednesday, August 16th from 6:30 to 8:30, boarding begins at 6:20

2nd AWSA Tourney - Personal Best!!!

After a week of skiin' every morning/evening in Ohio, skied my personal best. But have had a struggle after a week off skiin' while in Vinalhaven ME then another week off for scout summer camp, didn't get back to shortline until this past week. But yesterday kicked some butt and skied my personal best in windy conditions up on Back Bay of Lake Winnipesaukee, 5 buoys at 36mph. Places me in Mens II Division (Age 25-34) 171st out of 261 skiers in the nation. This weekend is my INT tourney a completely different league, but feeling great going into it!!! Then the following weekend hopefully make it back to Back Bay!!!

High 90s Temps & Southerly Breezes - FLORIDA?

Nope we're not in Florida, but certainly felt like it the bast five days. Brutally hot. But last night a cold front (cooler front) came in dropping temps 10deg. What a beautiful night on the pond. Just couldn't get the darn Accusink course to come up, then found two leaks in the system an airline that popped off connection and another blown bladder (last one happened on Saturday). So now skiin' for Rich & I, but certainly gave us plenty of time to make the repairs and start updating buoy lines with some Boy Scout knot creativity, new bright orange turn buoys and green pre-gates, as well as re-arrange magnets for all buoy timing. About half-way done after finishing up last night at 11:30pm. Posted by Picasa
